Welcome to the Youth & Family Ministry section of the SCUCA website.  Its purpose is to serve Unity youth and Spiritual educators.  As consultants, we provide support, information, events and training for the growth and development of vital Youth and Family Ministry programs.  We serve, remembering that Myrtle Fillmore, Unity Co-Founder, posed the question, “Who will care for the children?”  Her response is our guide :

"Our mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be always entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent. To be ‘called out’ is to follow the harmonious law of the soul’s unfoldment. 

Who meddles with the rosebud? What fingers are deft enough to pry open that marvel of folded beauty? We are wise enough to leave it alone to follow the glad law of its own unfolding. 

But our children! Have we dealt as wisely with these buds of marvelous possibilities? Have we always remembered that they, too, must quicken and unfold through the innate law of their own genius?” 

New Age Policy for Uniteens and Y.O.U.

Effective March 1, 2008, The SCUCA Regional Policy for Uniteens and Youth of Unity to attend a SCUCA Regional Retreat is:

Uniteens:  In order to attend a regional Uniteen retreat, Uniteens must be in grades 6, 7, 8 or equivalent, with a minimum age of 11 and a maximum age of 14.

Youth of Unity:  In order to attend a regional YOU retreat, YOUers must be in grades 9, 10, 11, 12 or equivalent, with a minimum age of 14 and a maximum age of 19; or, if not in high school, a maximum age of 18.
