Licensed Unity Teachers

Licensed Unity Teachers(LUT) are credentialed leaders in the Unity movement who serve in four specialty areas: Administration, Adult Education, Pastoral Care and Youth & Family Ministry.  While some LUT's serve as Spiritual Leaders for Unity Ministries that do not have an ordained minister,  most serve as part of the team with a minister.  The Spiritual Education and Enrichment (S.E.E.) program offered at Unity Village offers the required training to become an LUT.  The 250 hours program of study includes the teaching of Unity principles and leadership training (for more information see www.unity.org under Ministries / Leaders) 

Donna Loflin, Licensed Teacher Representative

Donna completed the Licensed Unity Teacher certification in 2005. Since September of 2008 she has been employed by Unity Church of the Hills in Austin, TX as Assistant to the Minister. In this capacity she oversees the Prayer Chaplain Program, Spiritual Education and Enrichment and adult Sunday school classes, the women’s ministry, and mentors students on the Licensed Unity Teacher path. She also enjoys officiating at weddings. Donna received a BA Degree in Social Science and a Masters Degree in Human Services. She spent over 25 years in non-profit geriatric community based care programs. She and Chere Pinkston, our Alternate Rep look forward to connecting with as many LUTs as possible in order to facilitate common goals.

Chere’ Pinkston, Alternate Licensed Unity Teacher Representative

Unity has been a big part of my life for over 20 years. When I retired from public education after 31 years and a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and two Master’s degrees from the University of Houston in Clear Lake Texas, I decided to continue my education at Unity Village. I completed CEP classes in 2001 and received certification as a Licensed Unity Teacher in January, 2003. I have served as the Spiritual Leader at the Unity Churches in New Braunfels, Texas and Nacogdoches, Texas. I have taught many SEE classes with the help of the staff at Unity School. I am currently serving the church in Wimberley, Texas, teaching classes.
